Serveau

This ongoing series allows the artist to explore many themes using a serial process that continues to expand.  The title comes from a combination of the words, "Servo" and "Tableau".  Servo refers to the motors which are used in the robotic drawing process, tableau is french for table.  In this case, a surface to arrange images.   It uses a combination of photography, hand drawing, robotic drawing and layering to inquire into the golden threads that connect all things.

It ponders contemporary solutions derived from ancient ideas through vectorization of the extinct, untranslated, and unextracted wisdom of the past. It combines elements of familiar with elements of untraceable origin.  Select works are currently on exhibit in the hallway at GMU School of Art outside of room 1014.  Series is currently available for exhibition, rental, or purchase.

Matt is accepting commissioned work in this style.
